As a recent switcher from Gnus, I miss this functionality terribly.  In
that program, you could `Followup' (to the list) or `Reply' to the
sender at your whim.

One idea might be to follow the Gnus route of adding metadata to mail
folders.  Add a "list-reply-to" tag, let the user populate it
appropriately, and the problem just got dramatically easier.  Note that
other convenient uses for editable metadata would include a handy place
to store information such as list passwords, unsubscribe addresses, etc.
