I have Exchange 2003 running on W2k running active directory and I have been struggling with permissions all day.
I am trying to allow secretaries access to their managers email folder in the following way. 1. I need to allow them to send on behalf of their manager . This is notionally quite easy just go into manager in active directory click on the Exchange General tab / delivery options / send on behalf and then add the secretary to the list. This works fine. As per KB327000. 2. I also need to allow them full access to the managers email folder. To do this again active directory/Exchange advanced / mailbox rights / add user and give them full mailbox access. This also works well and allows secretary to open managers mailbox and read / change etc. as per KB262399 However if you do both these things together something in point 2 changes how point 1 functions. Giving them full access to the mailbox changes the way the 'send on behalf' of works. Instead the secretary actually sends as their manager a subtle difference but crucial in the legal environment I work in. Anyone know how to get the permissions just right so I can access everything someone elses mailbox while still only sending on behalf of that person? Many Thanks Adrian _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=&lang=english To unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
