I know both Exim and Postfix have this ability.  I'd avoid Sendmail anyway,
too many security problems and Postfix makes a nice drop-in replacement.

Agreed.  SpamAssassin and ClamAV here running on Exim, Exiscan-ACL, and
SA-Exim.  This setup allows me to actually bounce with 5xx error incoming
spam and virus e-mail, rather than generate an NDR after the fact.  Plus,
Exchange 5.5 SMTP is too inflexible for my taste.

Both incoming and outgoing mail get routed through this box to/from my
internal Exchange server.
