Try checking your IIS admin for URLScan.. Check the web site properties,
isapi filters, check the default and exchange web sites
Also try checking the iss log on the exchange server ( not front end )
Can you connect to the mailbox directly on the exchange server?
Check your authentication methods

No, that is the weird part, this just "broke" all by itself.

Have you recently applied any service packs, patches, hotfixes, etc?

I have an SSL accelerator, an F5, sitting in front of the OWA server
that has the certificate on it. There have been no changes to either of
these machines and this issue "appeared" out of nowhere.

You got some interference there, probably your firewall. I have seen
this happen. Try using OWA with SSL (you will have to get a digital
certificate for setting up SSL on the front-end server). Usually when
firewall causes these problems with OWA, using https takes care of it. I
guess because the traffic is encrypted, the firewall can't screw it up.

Subject: OWA Authentication issue

Hello all,

I am having an issue that has apparently come out of "thin air".

W2K Advanced Server SP4 on all servers, E2K EE SP3 w/ all current
hot-fixes.

I have a FE/BE setup for OWA (which is installed on a stand-alone
server). For reasons un-be known to me, the OWA server has begun to
prompt for login credentials multiple times. If you enter the correct
credentials the first time, then click cancel on the next login box it
stops asking you to authenticate and allows you access to your
mailbox/PF's. If you keep entering your credentials it just continues to
prompt you over and over.

There are no errors on the OWA server, the IIS logs appear to be normal,
I have double (and triple) checked all the appropriate permissions for
Authenticated Users on the OWA box. I have triple checked the Directory
Permissions in ESM and in ISM.

I am at whit's end here and have no idea where else to look. I have
looked everywhere and found nothing. The most disturbing thing is that
all has worked flawlessly for over a year now and this all started about
2 days ago.

Please help,

Josh Bennett
