I hate it when management obtusely and bullishly moves forward without thinking of the 
ramifications.
I deal with it daily.
I had to have a dedicated power line ran for one of my benches and the boss was more 
concerned with the 400 price tag than he was with the fact that a $5000.00 G5 might 
get damaged from a power issue.

You could try exporting to a pst, deleting the mailbox and then importing 
from the pst into a new mailbox and see if that resolves issues on a user by 
user basis.  That has worked for me in an exchange 2k environment.
