Should have tried to restore right away. You still had the current
transaction logs intact, right (assuming that you don't use circular
logging). That way you wouldn't have lost a day worth of mail.

Subject: Store corruption

Platform Ex5.5 SP4, NT4 SP6
Situation: had a SCSI controller go bad and somehow corrupt the store.
Whenever I tried to start it Dr. Watson error on store.exe. ESEUTIL -g
showed inconsistencies. ESEUTIL -r also generated Dr. Watson when it tried
to start the store. Finally ESEUTIL -p which of course went through
draconian style and "Fixed" everything. So the store comes up but with
funky problems e.g. 1. Folder reads "unread messages -1" 2. User can't
resize preview pane (on any workstation) he gets a permissions error. 3.
Folder has 1 unread message but there isn't one. Marking all contents in
folder as Read does not change it. Etc.Etc.Etc. I suggested we lose a days
mail and restore from previous day backup.
Mngmt said we are back up we will live with it.

My Question: When I move to Ex2003 through ADU&C move mailbox are these
discrepancies likely to go away?

Thanks for any input.

Allan
