Hello All,

I hope it's okay to ask this here, because wanting to mirror my Exchange
Store drive is the root of me wanting to do this... and I am sure you
experienced Admins have seen lots of unique "drive related" issues over
the years.

I know for a fact, that my store drive (which also happens to be my boot
volume) has some bad blocks on there. Yet, when I run a CheckDisk on it
- it doesn't want to flag them, and mark them unusable.

Since I know that the drive may be in trouble, I immediately put another
drive in the system, so I can mirror the "potentially failing" drive -
and then make the freshly mirrored drive primary (taking out the
original drive altogether when the process is finished).

For some reason, if you attempt to mirror a drive with bad blocks, it
pukes when it comes upon those blocks - rather than skipping over and
proceeding. I suppose I can understand this, because of the Mirroring
process wanting to create an *exact* image of the master drive.

What the heck can I do, in order to get this drive - mirrored to another
one? Ghost does not work - because I think these bad blocks are causing
problems too. I am avoiding the process of backing up, and restoring my
system - to a fresh install. I don't have the luxury of all that
downtime, etc.

I would deeply appreciate anything offered to help remedy this problem.

Thanks in advance,

Mike
