In IIS you can limit what ip addresses it will respond on Perhaps in SMTP VS you can do the same? for each VS

For example I had a Front-End server with two NICs. One NIC had an external IP address and the other one was internal. So when mail from outside arrived, it hit the SMTP virtual server on the external NIC. Then mail got relayed to the SMTP virtual server on bound to the internal NIC. Then finally it was sent to the back-end server.
