As far as I know Exchange Enterprise will run on Windows Standard.

Well,

We're running 5 stores with an average of around 10+ GB on each store.
Largest one we have is 25 GB, about 250 mailboxes and getting slue of server
issues....lol. Read Cybex book on exchange 2003, and insists when running
E2K3 enterprise you must run on advanced 2000 server or
win2003 server?

That really depends on what functionality you are trying to get out of
Exchange2k3 Enterprise.

Been hearing some confusing design stuff myself. Should E2K3 run on windows
2000 advanced server or windows 2003 servers only? I have it running on
windows 2000 server, but someone was telling me it's not correct setup for
exchange 2003 enterprise?

Thanks

You don't need Windows 2003 AD servers to run Exchange 2003...

Part Exchange part AD.

I have a friend with a school system network. 18 locations, 8000 users and a
lot of email. Budget is not much of an issue here. Exchange 2000 and a 2000
Domain.

Can you have 2003 AD child domain in a 2K Domain. So he can then use
2003 Exchange as the front end server and pick up the spam filters and the
better OWA? And still have the email boxes on the 2000 servers.

Updating the 2000 Domain at this point is not an option.
