Just for a reference point, our dir.edb on an Exchange 5.5 server is about 427 Mbytes. This is for about 300 mailboxes and about 100,000 external addresses.

Its weird because none of my mailbox servers are anywhere near that size. These servers are bridgehead and SMTP mail servers. I remember having a problem like this at a former job and running the EDBUTIL had no effect. Microsoft gave me some tool to help fix it. I forget what its called (I think its GSclient but can't get any hits on it in Google or at MS so I probably have one of the letters wrong). But I do remember that it wasn't very effective for me anyway. Thoughts anyone ? _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=&lang =english To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
