Our dns was able to resolve the address as well as the mail address but
there are a lot of failures on dnsreport.com site. What portion of the
report do you want to see to help determine the issue? Here are the
failed sessions
1 Open relay test : WARNING: mail.kpf.ca appears to be an open relay:
250 recipient ok. (kpf.ca is the destination)
2 Connect to mail server : ERROR: I could not connect to one or more of
your mailservers: mail2.kpf.ca: Timed out [Last data sent: QUIT ]
3 Reverse DNS entries for MX records :
        ERROR: The IP of one or more of your mail server(s) have no
reverse DNS (PTR) entries (if you see "Timeout" below, it may mean that
your DNS servers did not respond fast enough). RFC1912 2.1 says you
should have a reverse DNS for all your mail servers. It is strongly
urged that you have them, as many mailservers will not accept mail from
mailservers with no reverse DNS entry. You can double-check using the
'Reverse DNS Lookup' tool at the DNSstuff site. The problem MX records
are:
94.183.145.142.in-addr.arpa [No reverse DNS entry (rcode: 3 ancount: 0)]
244.246.93.65.in-addr.arpa [Timeout]

How about your DNS? Is your DNS resolving those domain names and their
MX
records correctly? Have you tried to do an NSLOOKUP against your AD DNS
servers and compare the results vs http://www.dnsreport.com?


Also your IP address could be on some spam blacklist that those domains
are
using, and the "5.7.1 Unable to relay" could be just their way to tell
you
that they don't want to take mail from you.

One front-end and one back-end. Front-end is only for WebMail. All
mailboxes
are on backend which is the one generating the errors

In your error message, who is "computername.domain.com" ? Is it your
server
or some other server from the internet?

If this is your server, is it the server that doesn't host your mailbox,
yet
is the bridgehead for the SMTP Connector? If that's the case, did you
impose
relay restrictions on the SMTP Virtual server of this machine and it is
not
refusing to take mail from the Exchange server that is hosting your
mailbox?

I actually use outlook and with the default config. I went through it
but
couldn't find anything. If anything it will be on the exchange side
because
the problem originated from another user. We are on exchange 2003. The
only
thing that has changed is that I run the exchange 2003 security policy
on
the GPO and moved the server to the new GPO. I will go through the
policy
but you would think if anything it should be global.

recipient policy. Take them out. By putting a domain name into YOUR
recipient policy you declare that YOUR server is responsible for that
domain. When you send mail to that domain, your Exchange server sees it

its own recipient policy and tries to find the address locally, in its

AD instead of trying to send the message to the Internet.

Yes it worked with yahoo but not from my domain. However I made two
changes
and I noticed that has changed the error to

authenticate
for relay on the SMTP connected and allow added the recipients domain to
the

Are those domains outside of your organization?

Can you send to those addresses from a third-party place like hotmail or
yahoo?

Try to validate these addresses using http://www.dnsreport.com - just
plug
the e-mail address on the right side and click Mail Test.

Two of my users are having a problem sending mail to a couple of domains
error is "The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this

was sent to" I have applied every suggestion from Microsoft but nothing
seem
