I didn't bother to telnet to the three mail servers, but perhaps if you do a
telnet to port 25 on each of them from your Exchange server, maybe you'll
get some clues as to what's wrong.

Subject: network error during host resolution
Have a user who cannot send email to a certain email address. When I lookup
email address on dnsstuff, everything checks out ok. From my mail server I
can ping yahoo.com but not acosta.com (that is the domain), says bad IP
address. Is this a dns problem on my end? If so, how come I can resolve some
names not others.
This is the error the user received trying to send the email
"MSEXCH:IMS:Dixon Ticonderoga:Corporate:EXCH2 3499 (000B09B6) network error
during host resolution"
