You aren't supposed to get rid of the Exchange 5.5 policies until you've
gotten rid of the Exchange 5.5 servers. They're there for backward
compatibility. You can, however, create additional recipient policies or
modify the default policy, can't you?

I'm not sure of the Internet Mail Wizard, but what you should be able to do
is create an SMTP Connector to supersede your old Internet Mail Service, and
on the incoming side change your MX and/or A records to route your incoming
mail to your Exchange 2003 server.

Subject: Internet mail wizard

Sorry for the dumb question ...... BUT...... I hope someone can help me!

In the process of migrating from Ex 5.5 to 2003. Moved Mailboxes. PF etc.
All works!

Now I want to use the Internet Mail Wizard to configure SMTP for the server
and decommission the 5.5 (basically it just acts as a bridgehead now since
all PF and mailboxes have moved!

When I run the wizard it will not allow me to enter additional domains (we
have several domain names).

I suspect this is because of multiple recipient policies.

These have been generated but the exdeploy procedures automatically.

They are as follows:

    Recipient Policy "Sydney" contains:-

    (&(mailNickname=*)(legacyExchangeDN=/O=Gekko Corporation/OU=Sydney/*))

    Default Policy contains:-

    (mailnickname=*)

    Sydney is highest priority.

What do I remove/edit? Do I still need the Sydney policy now that I have
migrated off the 5.5?

Thanks in anticipation.

Adrian
