Yup. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tony Woods Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2005 9:22 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: More than one Exch 2003 server, OWA
Ok, so it's not like 5.5 then. If I set up a FE server that has port 80 and 443 open to it, it'll talk to the other two exchange servers on the back end for me even though there is no direct access to them from the outside, right? Thanks again. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Derek Harris Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2005 7:31 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: More than one Exch 2003 server, OWA You'll either have to open ports on the firewall to the second Exch server, or set up a FE that has access to both. Server 1 won't mediate your conversation with server 2; it just redirects you. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tony Woods Sent: Tuesday, March 15, 2005 8:24 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: More than one Exch 2003 server, OWA Fist of all, thanks for the advice on the SBS move. It went flawlessly. However, I have installed a second 2003 server at another site with workers connected via T1, Cisco routers at both ends but OWA can't get to that server. I don't have a FE/BE set up yet, I'm just trying to get OWA to work first. I moved my own mailbox to this second server, connected to the outside url, get prompted for id and password, it looks like it authenticates but I get page cannot be displayed. I can connect internally to my second exchange server through OWA. I can even connect to the first one, internally, and it redirects me to the second server so I know IIS and OWA are working on that second box. We have sonic wall, redirecting http traffic from the outside to the internal ip of the first exchange box. I'm thinking it's just a routing issue from subnet 1 to subnet 2? We tried redirecting http traffic from the outside to the second exchange box on a different subnet and it couldn't connect. Basically, I just want to know that when I connect to OWA on the outside but my mailbox is on the second server, I should just get connected, right... Just like the 5.5 OWA does? The first server would do the re-directing? Thanks, Tony _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
