I'm still having this problem... Something came up in a discussion with Earthlink support today. Their users use port 587 to send mail rather than 25.
The tech wasn't clear about how earthlink then connects to remote mail users. Do you know if the problem is that I need to allow port 587 through in my firewall and then listen for it on the Exchange Server? On a side note -- when I first hired-on here, they were having trouble sending & receiving mail from AOL. Siemens had set up their data & voice networks, and the IP address range was in the 172.168.0.0 subnet, which is publicly routed, and owned by AOL.
