The connection method for that connection is very important. Like Michael Said it has to be on the HCL and exchange generally only supports SCSI, SAN, and or ISCSI. NAS storage can give some latency at the Disk IO level. Exchange is one of the MOST disk intensive applications that you can run.
Last I looked there was maybe one NAS solution out there that supported an Exchange Store and was on the HCL.
