1. You can try to remove the server object from the ESM to see what happens as long as the server is off the network. If that does not work, then you will need to delete the server out of AD using ADSIEdit.msc
2. The GAL is populated on objects in the GAL by the showinaddressbook attribute. If you have multiple domain controllers and replication is failing between them, then this might explain it. Also, if the client is using Outlook 2003 in cached mode, you will need to rebuild the OAB and then download the address book again to remove the users from the Gal. Hope this helps. I forgot these mailboxes were moved and I wiped the temp server. Now I have AD accounts with associated mailboxes that are gone. These are ex-employees so no big problem. I have two issues: 1. I didn't remove the temp server from the Exchange servers in AD. Is it safe to do it now that the server is gone? 2. When I delete a disconnected account (mark mailbox for deletion) the AD object/account is gone but I still see it on the GAL. Any ideas?
