How about checking the nic config and router config to make sure both set at 100mb not auto negotiate.

A user is experiencing long delays in open emails with attachments as well as in actually opening the attachments themselves they delays can be over a minute with small attachments (6kb for example), the message displayed on the screen is a pop up box stating that the system is trying to connect to the exchange server, this vanishes and then there is a further wait until the email opens. (during a ping while this is being carried out there is no loss of connection) 2. The same exchange server is taking over 31 hours to backup 9gb of data locally, trying to do this over the wan as you can imagine is nigh on impossible.
