Maybe you have some hardware issues that are causing corruption? Do you have any Event IDs 1018 in the application log?

The reason I'm looking for more a solution rather than a fix is because I've had this problem on a few other mail stores that we have of users telling me their mailbox size is small but are getting limit notifications. I've seen with my own eyes of someone actually having next to nothing in their mailboxes and still getting hit with the over limit notification. Let me ask you this. If you move the mailbox and then later move it back. Does the problem go away after something like that? We have limits set for 100mbs of mailbox space for each user. Well this user was reporting 190mbs of mailbox space on our Exchange server. Well, after going through almost every folder she had there was nothing that represented 190mbs. So I moved her mailbox to another mailstore and her size was drastically decreased to 42mbs.
