Any remote users using older versions of Outlook? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bryce Stenberg Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2005 6:31 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Outlook 2003 rules saved to server get lost?
Hi, We've migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 sp1 running on server 2003 sp1. All the clients are Outlook 2003 connecting across the LAN (single subnet). We have a problem where if a user uses 'Rules and Alerts' in Outlook to create mail handling rules they are saved for a while, but get lost from server after 2 days! For example, the user creates some rules to move certain mail to specific folders based on header content. If I use mdbvu32.exe to view store I can see all the rules are on the server for a users profile. After some time (around 2 days), when the user opens Outlook in the morning, the rules have not been processed on newly arrived emails. If user opens 'Rules and Alerts' they get asked whether they want client side or server side rules as the rules don't match. If I inspect the store with mdbvu32.exe again I can see the rules have now all gone!! Does anyone know why this might be happening please? (Rules use to work always under exchange 5.5 with outlook 2000 clients). Regards, Bryce Stenberg. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
