Why not? 5.5 has message tracking.

While a good tool, I don't think it will work in his scenario "exchange server
(5.5)".

Look in Message Tracking. Message tracking must be enabled on all servers.
You may have to click around in the results to get more results.

Subject: tracing an email

I am asked to prove that a certain person received an email. Our SMTP server
(IIS/GFI) clearly shows that it was received and passed along to our exchange
server (5.5). The event log in the exchange server shows:

A message from <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> in temporary file
e:\exchsrvr\imcdata\in\LV0L4MSH was received from 192.168.10.100 with 1 local
recipients.

In the log where the info was recorded: L0000000.LOG , I do not find any record
of the email being delivered. I checked on the day in question (3GB log file)

Am I doing something wrong, should I be looking somewhere else?

TIA
