Bottom line: I simply cannot reproduce the problem.

OK. Did that. Bounced the IMS service. Had the guy send another one. He
called the gal who's on Exchange 5.5. She can see all the names of
everybody except those of us on Exchange 2003 simply by opening the
message. These addresses appear on the To: line.

Looked in the logfile on their Exchange 5.5 server. The data portion of
the message clearly has all these names on the To: line.

Looked in my PMDF logs on the VMS gateway. There are clearly separate
entries for this message for each address that is exposed on the
receiving Exchange 5.5 server, as well as separate entries for each SMTP
address outside the company - such as AOL, Charter, etc. I would expect
this - after all, who looks at mta logs except email administrators,
anyway?

Sent another test, this time I sent it myself, but only to off-site
addresses. Bcc'd a few off-site SMTP addresses. All the addresses
appeared in the VMS/PMDF logs, as you would expect. Opened up one of
them in Outlook, and saw no exposed addresses anywhere.

Finally, sent a test myself in the way this fellow says he sent it. I
sent from the same Exchange 2003 server he is sending from, to the same
Exchange 5.5 server this gal is on, with my Exchange 5.5 mailbox and a
few other SMTP addresses in the bcc line. Opened it up in Outlook on the
Exchange 5.5 server. Saw no exposed addresses at all. Did a reply. Saw
no exposed addresses at all. Looked at the Exchange 5.5 log file. Saw no
bcc recipients in the To: line at all. Only saw my own Exchange 2003
address in the To: line, which is what it should be.

As Charlie Brown used to say, AAArrrrrgggghhhhh!!!

I'm going to have to actually jump in the car, go across town, stare at
this guy's screen, and make sure he isn't doing something weird, or I'll
never figure this out.

Thanks for your patience, folks. Everything seems to be behaving the way
it's supposed to, at least for me, but this guy is still having the
problem. If I ever figure it out, I'll surely let you all know.
