Well, last night they slept in separate rooms, but they seemed better
after breakfast.

How are your global catalog servers/DNS servers doing?

OK...All users. Different message stores. Everyone is on the same
network segment.

OL clients have all been established for months, many for years. No pst
files used, everyone runs off the server.

I don't defrag my Exchange server. I do the PCs, but I've tried that,
not the issue.

One NIC, very simple setup. About 25 internal users, everything is
10/100.
The Exchange box has never been reluctant, certainly for internal users.
Now it's begun acting like it would for a dial-up user trying to
authenticate. I see no anomolies in the event log on the exchange box,
no failed logons.

I just wondered in any of the recent patches/hotfixes if anyone had seen
a 30 to 60-second latency pop up in authenticating...

Thanks,

David

I hate to ask the obvious questions but...

Is it ALL USERs, USERS in one group, Users on message store on the
exchange server? Users on the same Network Segment, using some common
networking element?

How long have the OL clients been installed?

If these are established accounts, when is the last time they COMPACTED
their .pst files?

When is the last time you defragged the exchange server, the PCs.

How many NIC cards in the Exchange Server?

What is the bandwidth on your network?

Network anomolies? Just started happening a rabid NIC sending out
garbage on the segment the exchange server is on, or if it is the same
users or group of users on one segment.

Asnwer these questions for yourself it should give you some ideas where
to start.
