If you can stomach Linux, it is hard to be the performance and flexibilty of
Squid. Even a Pentium-III class machine (with enough ram & diskspace) and
act has a caching & content filtering proxy server for several thousand
users.

Subject: WAY OT: Proxy Servers

Does anyone have any recommendations for proxy servers? I have an old
version of WinGate that's a dog. The two systems that seem to be a good
solution so far are:

newest WinGate version or Microsoft ISA server.

I'd like something that logs activity, has user/group authentication,
filtering, AD integration, caching etc.
