Subject: RE: Mailbox owner permissions disappearing

I've actually seen this - albeit rarely - in 5.5 too. It's fresh in my mind, because I've had two of them in the last couple of weeks, since school started (I work for a school district). Users are unable to open their mailboxes, everything on their workstation looks just peachy, I take a look at the email account, and bingo - no User permission is set in the 5.5 Permissions tab. These are users who worked just fine before summer started. The only change to the accounts is that their passwords expired and had to be reset.

Now, given that I've had about four of these in ten years of supporting Exchange, I'd say this is by no means a common problem - but it is peculiar. Still, sometimes it doesn't even pay to ask why. Sometimes, s*** just happens - if you know how to fix it, fix it.

Maybe my attitude would be different if I weren't the sole support for 150 servers, but I don't waste a lot of time on the metaphysical parts of the job...
