Best practice is to set a high send/receive limit just to keep mail loops in check.

I'm not a fan of send/receive limits, but a send limit on mailbox size would be good. Ie, maximum size limit on the mailbox size is X. When that size is reached user can no longer send mail -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ed Crowley [MVP] Sent: Thursday, September 22, 2005 4:59 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: exchange 5.5 priv growing at a rapid rate Right. Your first course of action should be to disable automatic replies and forwards to the Internet. Or it could be receiving NDRs, auto-replying to them, and getting more NDRs and autoreplying to them, etc. Same thing could happen with forwarding rules. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jonathan Beeler Sent: Thursday, September 22, 2005 5:06 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: exchange 5.5 priv growing at a rapid rate Was hoping you guys could help me out: Exchange 5.5 sp4 + hotfixes. I have an Exchange 5.5 priv that is growing very rapidly. About 600 users, but almost all of them have 20 MB mailboxes. The DB is at 56GB, now and has been growing about 1GB a day for the last few days. No mailboxes have been found to be out of whack. Does anyone have any suggestions? _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
