SP2 for Entourage has a number of improvements in terms of compatibility FWIW.

Entourage 2004 is a fairly ugly product in terms of Exchange connectivity but it can be got to work with a bit of effort. To set it up you have to let its port settings for LDAP override the default port for LDAP. Put your DC address as the LDAP server and you will have access to the Exchange GAL.
