Hate to jump in the middle here, but I noticed you said you have port 80 open on your firewall, did you open up port 443 also?
Once you opened the port(s) did you restart/reload/reboot your firewall? Did you reboot the machine you were using to test? Did you "require SSL" on your OWA Box or allow both? Did you start/stop IIS on your OWA box?
