I can't tell you how much breath I've wasted imploring clients not to archive 
e-mail by printing it and storing it in paper files.  Few of those that do it 
listen to me -- but then most of those who do it are attorneys who qualify for 
seniors pricing at the movie theater.

Now I roll my eyes, offer the weak "please don't do that" and move on with my 
day knowing they're going to burn thru a lot more reams of paper printing all 
their e-mail.

Archiving would be my first choice but mgnt wants to go the other direction and 
not keep any mail past 30 days (or some small number to be decided later). 
Sounds like printing is the direction they want to go with, but to be a 
accurate record it has to have the metadata in it.
