However, you might want two routing groups if both sites have their own
Internet connections and you don't want Internet traffic routed over the
inter-site link.

In the case of a 2mb connection between the two sites you don't need to have
two routing groups. Microsoft considers anything over 256mb to be a
"well-connected" site. You can leave the standard single routing group if
you really have that 2mb pipe.
This will make it a piece of cake. Just install another exchange 2003 server
at that remote site, and then either move the mailboxes for these users to
that site if they are already in Exchange, or create their mailboxes on the
new server. Good luck! :-)

There probably is, but it was pretty issue for me to figure out on my own.
I created 2 routing groups and assigned the servers from each site as
members to that routing group.

In each group I created a routing group connector. On the general tab
specify which routing group that connector will connect with (your opposite
routing group obviously) and you can specify individually the server that
can send mail over the routing group connector, or leave it to "any local
server".

On the remote bridgehead tab in the connector, specify the opposite server.
I think that would cover everything.

SUPER......

Scenario b sounds like what I'm looking 4. Is there any kb out there on the
2 site exchange setup with the connectors?

There are a couple of ways to handle it. You can setup Exchange(RPC) over
HTTP and let the users is location B connect to the servers in location A
via that method. No need for additional hardware, and as long as you have
Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003, it's easy to do.

You can setup a second sever in location B which holds the mailboxes of
users in location B, keeping all their mail itself local. Setup routing
group connectors between servers in A and B so they can communicate.

Hey Guys,

I know I've asked this before I think, but I was not to sure about the
answer. I'm running an exchange 2003 server in location A, but would like
my clients in location B to access it as well. There is a 2 MB link between
them. Is there such a scenario where I can setup 2 exchange boxes on each
location, and have data replicate or move between them, or control traffic
between users in location A & B? I heard something about adding another
exchange server to my existing organization, and I'm guessing I will just
have to point users the respective server in their physical location?

Thanks

Paul
