Yep, I'd agree

Partition 1

C: OS/System (10-15GB)
D: Transaction logs and any other logs/files that have the potential to
grow rapidly

Partition 2

E: Exchange store

I'd put the OS, Exchange Application and Exchange transaction logs on
the RAID 1 set (C: drive) and the Exchange information stores on the
RAID 5 set.

This server is a dedicated Exchange box, yes?

Subject: Best drive configuration

I'm going to be putting Exchange Server 2003 on a Dell 2650. It has 5
spindles (two 36 GB Raid 1 and three 70 GB Raid 5). (Presumably the
Raid configuration could be changed.) What would be the best
configuration for these drives in terms of RAID configuration and
partitioning? I don't anticipate heavy use (approximately 55 mail boxes
and no public folders).
Thanks for your help.

Curt Finley
