Default SMTP Virtual Server can both send and receive.

Internet Mail SMTP Connector is actually not a physical entity. It is a
logical thing that brings some order in your SMTP traffic. It basically
specifies which SMTP Virtual Servers should be used to send mail and to
where, and how.

Subject: A Question or Two about Exch 2003 Connectors

Hi all,

I tend to think that in Exchange 2003, "Internet Mail SMTP Connector" is

used to send email to Internet and "Default SMTP Virtual Server"
receives
all emails. Am I wrong in this? Please straighten or enlighten me
without
being too nasty.

Now a specific question - In Exch 5.5, I could specify a Message
Delivery
method per domain from Connections tab of IMC but do I have to create a
new
Internet Mail SMTP Connector in Exch 2003 each time I want to specify a
different 'smarthost' for a domain? It seems that way. Is there some
simpler
method? Thanks.

Jay
