It's not too hard, If you can run both of them at the same time, setup your new DNS records (give your new MX a lower score) for the new address and give it time to roll over. Once you have gotten them done, you can turn off the old interface and make sure you are working, and then remove the old MX and A records. We have done it a few times like this with no problems, both for ISP changes, and just because we wanted to change our outside address subnet. Usually we just leave up the old interface for 7-10 days, then disable it and see what happens.

We're switching ISPs so I have to change the IP address of the server. Is there a white paper that covers this? Does anyone have any practical experience they can share? Thanks Russ _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
