Yea this is why I don't consult.  Never actually was told what they
currently have for a firewall, just that it was a bit iffy.  I was going
to recommend a Sonicwall so they could have VPN as well.

I also think they would like to offload some of the support.

Hmmm... no idea what kind of upgraded firewall they might need to make
Exchange accessible from the outside since you don't mention what they
use now or what requirements it doesn't meet on a go forward basis. An
entry level barracuda box is like $1200. Postini4Less is a couple of
bucks per mailbox per month. 

Not that those can't be valid reasons, but so far there's insufficient
data for me to conclude that. If I were going to have my Exchange
services hosted, I'd use Blue Ridge Internetworks or SunGard myself.
Local doesn't make up for extremely capable or massively redundant IMO.
