Hi,

I am having a problem with Public Folders on an Exchange 2003 clustered
server.

I have just removed what was the first Exchange 2003 server from our domain
and I had forgotten to change the Mailbox Store Policy that told some of our
mailstores which default public store to attach to. Having corrected this,
and waited for approx 3 hours, I am still unable to connect to the public
stores on this server using Outlook 2002. However, I can connect to them
using OWA.

I also get the following error when attempting to 'Manage Settings' in
Exchange System Manager
"The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000

ID no: c1050000
Exchange System Manager"

I am also seeing Event ID 9175 messages in the Event Log whenever I attempt
to Manage Settings, but the Microsoft Knowledge base does not seem to have
anything specific/relevant to my problems.

I am able to expand the folder list and make changes to folders at both the
tip level and further down the tree of the same folders that produce the
above message when attempting to Manage Settings.

I have double checked the Microsoft website for info about removing the first
exchange server and everything in their webpage was covered (except the
above) before removing the server.

I have tried restarting the Exchange System Attendant service on the affected
server, but no joy.

Any help in diagnosing and fixing this would be greatly appreciated.
