Thought it might be worth mentioning that I have also tried running a
repair(/p option) on the database and it quits at the same point with
the same error, does anyone know of a filesize limit within eseutil for
Exchange 5.5? Perhaps theres a patch to extend its functionallity.

Cheers

Subject: RE: Eseutil /d - assertion failure

The resulting file when copied over the original private information
store file would not mount, the database was inconsistent so I'm
guessing it didn't finish the defrag and the temporary file was
incomplete.

Results for this problem on google are very scarse, one other person I
found was running it on a 300GB 5.5 database which crapped out at 50%,
ours is crapping out at 70% on a 210GB file so that kind of tallies up
that ESEUTIL for one reason or another simply cant fix files so large.

Subject: Eseutil /d - assertion failure

When running eseutil /d to defragment an Exchange 5.5 database of around
210GB in size, getting the following error :-

"Assertion failed: dPercentage >=0, file ..\edbutil.cxx line 563".

The closest KB I have found is the following :-

http://www.kbalertz.com/Q280792/Defragmenting.Large.Database.Remote.Outp
ut.Causes.Assertion.Failure.aspx

This is a different scenario but the same error, it suggests that
defragging a remote STM file > 4GB results in this error. Whilst this
is a different scenario it suggests that defragmentation has completed
but there has been an error when copying the temporary database back to
the information store, so this would suggest possibly the temporary
database file that exists is intact/defragged and ready to roll all it
needs is copying over? I am giving it a test on a dummy machine this
morning but its going to take some hours to copy the file over, in the
mean time if anyone else knows any more details of this error then that
would be marvelous.

The defrag process appears to have bombed out at just over 70%, I know
the indicator bar actually demonstrates the different stages of the
whole process, when it gets to 70% is this around the area in which the
defrag process has finished and the remainder is just the copying
process?

Cheers.
