We are upgrading to Exchange 2007 and we have a small mac base who
use entrourage. In my test setup, I was not able to get DNS to work
correctly on the macs. They didn't seem to be able to resolve local
host names, ie the mail server. They could get to the internet and
resolve internet names correctly, AND they are able to ping the ip
address of the mail server. I did a search and found that because of
mDNS which the mac uses, AD 2003 doesn't like the fact that mDNS
uses .local or some such thing. It suggested inserting "local" into
the "Search domains" field but that didn't resolve the problem. I
know Exchange 2007 supports Entourage because it asks in the setup if
you have older clients like Outlook 2002 or Entourage. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
