This is why we disable auto-forwarding here. I had them take down an
Exchange 5.5 server a time or two before I found the following:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278427/en-us

This should fix the problem and keep the rule from firing after they hit
their size limits.

Subject: server side rules

I had a user that set up an auto forward server side rule to forward
email to his internet account.
when his external mailbox filled up, he got a message sent to his
exchange box and then his rule fired off, etc
as you can imagine, a loop occured and his exchange mailbox filled up to
28gig!

the thing is, he was on a mailstore that had a 200mb for Prohibit Send
(nothing for Prohibit Send and Recieive) mailbox size limit and his
account was not set to ignore store. he had no per user limits.

Shouldn't the limits kick in after 200mb and stop the rule from firing
off emails to the external account?

is there a way to aviod this?

thanks
