All, I have an issue where I have an application competing for high ports (1024 and higher) with w3wp.exe, used by OWA. I noticed that this can be changed by going into Component Services and editing the connection-oriented TCP/IP ports in the DCOM protocols, to something else. Thus removing the conflict in ports used by both applications. My question is what types of risks am I running by making this change? IS using ports above 5000 a bad idea? How large of a port pool should be specified?
Thanks as always, John Q Jr. _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=exchange To subscribe: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
