Since I am no Guru as many of you are... I figure I should ask before I create something ugly. The first server (srvr1) in my organization is running out of disk space on the os partition and is need of a server upgrade. Would the correct way to approach this be, dismounting the databases on srvr1 - remount them to srvr2 while I replace my srvr1 and moving them back when I'm done. I'm really worried about changing and name and IP of srvr1 because EVERYTHING is pointing to that server (mail gateway, intranet, mail enabled apps, etc..)
Any insight would be most appreciated.
