I think albert was meaning spam/conent filtering on the exchange server in question , rather than at the client level. i.e. the contenfiltering ripped it off the exchange server before it got to the mailbox and was not good at logging that action

I did try sending a message about the same size, that went thru OK. And both users receive a relatively large number of e-mails from this particular sender. I went into user B's mailbox myself and looked for the message, can confirm it really wasn't there. I didn't drill down looking for anti-malware, but I'll inquire. The real thrust of my question was, what happened at the Exchange server level that caused the message not to be delivered to one recipient? Thanks, David -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Albert Duro Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2008 7:33 PM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Re: Variable receipt problem grasping at straws: waylaid by AV/spam/content filtering, maybe? Does User B have any desktop anti-malware products? you seem to have ruled out delivery to B's mailbox, but just in case, there are any number of ways a message can become invisible in there, from accidental deletion to camouflage in the Outlook Today folder. An Exmerge search on the subject line might come up with something. can we rule out that B's messages are not delivered to a PST? have you tried replicating the situation -- sending A and B a 2 Mb attachment from an outside email account? ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Florea, SysAdmin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Exchange Discussions" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, February 20, 2008 7:45 AM Subject: Variable receipt problem In Exchange 2003: Outside contact (X) has sent a message to two of my users. The message had a 2MB attachment, well below any limits set at my server. User A received the message just fine. User B did not receive any trace of the message. User A forwarded the message to me, so I've verified that it was sent to both users. When I pull up the tracking logs, the same message (verified it's the same message ID #) appears for both users. But when I get the details from the tracking logs, the logs for both users show it delivered locally to user A, but neither log makes mention of delivering it to user B. It appears the server received the message, knew it was addressed to user B but made no attempt to deliver it. User B's mailbox is nowhere near any storage limits. User B is confused, and at the moment so am I. Can anyone offer a scenario??
