When I installed Exchange Server 2007 on Windows Server 2008 I disabled UAC. You might want to do that.

The first error message was very specific - no permissions on the c:\ExchangeInstallLogs area, which is itself strange because I'm logged in with a Schema Admin and Enterprise Admin account. I have not yet prepared the schema, AD, and domain, but when I try, I get the same error. Now, it's just a popup that says "Exchange encountered an error." Not very helpful. Is there something about Windows 2008 that is standing in the way?
