Perhaps I'm misreading?

This is what I have in E2010- Org->Hub Transport->Remote Domains-> Default
Message Format

[cid:[email protected]]

We have some mailboxes with server side forwarding to a Contact- this sends
everything from the mailbox to the Contact.
Because I personally hadn't done it before- created a rule in my Outlook to
forward messages based on certain content, to an Exchange Contact (Hotmail
address). it works:)

Thanks for the couple responses, but I would think that any type of rule would
be not allowed to forward any emails via a rule or contact object since we have
the global setting disabled for "Allow Automatic Forward"?

Hoping someone can confirm either it's flat-out impossible to allow only
specific mailboxes to auto-forward or that it can be done with another
configuration or ? I can't seem to find any newer references that this is
possible on the web...only some older references to Outlook 2003/2007.

Thanks, Lori

You could make Contacts with their personal email addresses then have the
internal mailbox rules forward messages to the contacts. Other than that I
don't' think so.
Might want to (after creating the rules) hide the contacts from the address
book, or at least name them something that won't draw a lot of "Hey I want to
put my BFF in the address book too!"

/been there:)

Subject: [Exchange] Question about auto-forward

Hello-
I understand why the "Allow automatic forward" and "Allow Automatic Replies"
(under our Default>Message Format) are disabled by default for my Exchange 2010
SP1 system and we currently do not allow (email loops/security). Currently,
under the General tab, we have "Allow external out-of-office messages only" for
our system.

I now have an IT engineer who would like to have an internal mailbox here that
receives some pager system alerts have the ability to auto-forward externally
these emails as they come in to a couple of their own personal external email
addresses for notification purposes.

Is there a way to allow only this one or select mailboxes to auto-forward, but
not allow auto-forwarding for the remainder of the mailboxes here?

Thank you.
