Hi, Having dug further it seems needlessly complicated, I see that the accepted way to do it for new mailboxes is with Scripting Agent Extentions.

Then we have a powershell script that runs every X hours that runs through the mailboxes. If a mailbox has activesync enabled and they are not in the group (or vice versa) it will adjust the mailbox appropriately.
