As long as you can remove it cleanly.

Subject: [Exchange] More E2K10 CAS Q's

Last Friday I managed to put a new CAS box in place of our old one, and as near
as we can tell most things work, but it looks like at least in some cases
ActiveSync devices don't take the push sync unless the profile is
removed/re-added (I just heard about that issue this morning).

My main question is that I've been asked to build a 2nd CAS box to make an
array and can I just remove/reinstall Exchange 2010 on the old CAS box (by
"old" I mean former, as it's a VM with the same hardware /specs as the new
one). The old CAS box has the hostname/IP that non-Exchange systems used to
SMTP relay (we're not yet sure if all the miscellaneous systems have been
repointed).

It turns out the reason my team wasn't able to patch the old CAS was because
SP3 for E2K10 would ask for the location of various installation media, and
pointing it to the knows E2K10 install locations/files, it would simply
re-prompt for the location of said files.

Ideally I'd like to have a CAS server with the same IP/hostname of our old one
for comfort's sake, I'm just wondering if 1. It wise and 2. If just
removing/reinstalling Exchange is the best way to achieve it.

Dave
