Actually it doesn't necesarily. Send a mail message with a delivery
receiptto a newly created mailbox (prior to logging into it with Outlook),
and I imagine you'd get a delivery receipt back.
In the larger scheme of this question (which keeps getting oversnipped
damnit), the administrator load balances the users when they move them off
of the old server. Just because all of the profiles might resolve the
location of a mailbox off of the same initial server does not mean that
after that point that server identified in the prf file has anything to do
with the client or it's load on any other server in the org. If profiles are
recreated every time a user logs in using the .prf file, it would seem the
users could be balanced for the highly cpu intensive task[1] of resolving a
name through the use of creative login scripting.
[1] I imagine it becomes "highly cpu intensive" when 10,000 user profiles
are updated within a 5 minute span... Anything less than that is hardly
worth worrying about.
