We had a problem a little while ago that we were unable to send any e-mails
with a graphic or an attachment in it. If the message is open for editing
long enough Outlook will try to save a copy to the Drafts folder until you
send it and the Outlook would give back an error when it done that as well
as if we sent it. I don't know how relevant this is for you but it may be
something to look at.
PS: the server problem turned out being a bad cable.

Has anyone experienced a problem with Outlook 2000 connecting to Exchange
5.5 sp4 and receiving the error 'The messaging interface has returned an
unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.' when composing
large emails (it loses the new email).
Article Q275/1/86 refers to this error but to when forwarding emails not
creating them, and the check list given does not apply to the users outlook
configuration.
