I don't want to start this rather unpleasant thread again, but I am aghast
at some of what I read.  An admin asks a question: providing app and OS
version and SP, the full error text and a rather plaintive call for help.
This is more than some questions have included that have been posted in the
past (my own included).  

The replies started out helpfully, collecting more information and quickly
denigrated to a most volatile (probably the worst I've seen on this list)
flaming of the admin, who, while still burning tries to further explain his
situation.  I don't know how many on this list didn't understand that he
didn't have room for 600 Meg mailboxes on his server (whether it is a
hardware limit or an IS setting) rather than room for only 600 Megs on his
server. I suspect I am not the only one who did understand him.  There are
doubtless other admins on this list who have to deal with unreasonable,
ignorant management who just happen to have the admins job in their budget.
Not everyone is in a position, or of a personality type, to fight
management.  

Everyone who subscribes to this list for more than 24 hours (and probably
before subscribing because they will have read the FAQ's) is well aware that
everyone, including our unborn children, know that PST's are bad and that
delivery to PST's should be the 11th Commandment.  If you want to have a
stable, secure Exchange org you will impose mailbox limits.  We all [1] know
that users are bigger email packrats than they were paper packrats.  This
necessitates a 'if you must have it, you are on your own - we won't back it
up and we won't restore it' implementation of pst files.  And this is not
just one or two companies, but several.  

We also know that salesmen and other 90% travel employees pitch a b!tch if
it takes more that 5 seconds to open their Inbox even though it is 90 Megs
in size and they have a 36K connection.  When you have to compare the number
of times the Help Desk is called, second level support investigates and
third level support convinces the by-now irate remote user that this is
typical and they need to wait a  v e r y  l o n g  t i m e for the mailbox
to open to the ease of having them pop their mail and be gone....  Well,
there is no comparison.  Especially if the user is made aware of the
aforementioned company policy on PST files.  This is typically the type of
person that will never manage their mailbox, so why spend all that time
holding the users hand.  Which is easier:  having them pop mail and not
worry about restoring it?  or suffering through call after call with them
because they won't believe that their ease of remote access is directly
relevant to their management of their mailbox?

I truly believe that Don Ely did not join this world as an all-knowing,
all-seeing Exchange guru.  He must have worked in an environment where he
had to deal with users.  He did say he worked with difficult management in
the past.  It seems to be that we can determine he is of the personality
type to fight management - hopefully more diplomatically than he responded
to Alex's plea for help.  I also hope that the users he did deal with have
gotten counseling and can now face a computer again.

I have just joined a company with the worst implementation of Exchange I
have ever seen.  Every admin here is afraid of their boss and will do what
he says just to keep him off their backs.  I have, however, refrained from
calling all of them a series of politically incorrect names and abusively
criticizing the decisions - whether their own or their managements.  It's
not that hard to do.  Really.[2]

That to me sounds like your mail server has only 600 MG of available space,
not:

I understand that there is a "care bear" exchange list you can subscribe to.
Maybe you should try there...

Item #1: Email doesn't necessarily say what you mean
Item #2: Sure she can talk for herself.  However, we've been around here for
quite a few years so we tend to say what we want. Item #3: I saw that, she's
a very nice person and I would expect that of her. Item #4: I have been in
that position before with the exact opposite results you came up with.  I
wonder why... Item #5: Your point is what?!?  My mailbox is 700MB, I've seen
others over a GB.  Big Deal, I've got plenty of disk space and I would never
nor will I ever advocate the use of PST's with an Exchange server.

Again: User is currently out of office and not poping email. Therefore all
new emails are going to sit on the server. They'll stay there until she/he
opens up Outlook and pops them. Then they'll be on the .pst file. The point
is email is being delivered, while the sender is receiving a bounced message
to the contrary, back from System Administrator.

It's being delivered to the .pst file because I don't have room on the
server for more than 600 MB of email! Yes I know all about .pst files being
not the ideal place to store email, but I can't bring down the server right
now, just to add hard drive!

I'm looking to find out why is this happening?

But the weird thing is the user X is actually receiving all the emails. Any
ideas why this is happening?
