Ok, so this data, you want to get where exactly.

Is it (presumption) old e-mails from old system that you wish to get
into peoples new mailboxes in Exchange? How big is the data? How many
users? Can you handle it manually or is it big enough to warrant some
sort of automation? Do you already have Exchange 5.5 or 2K already set
up and running?

OK now I see why the date is 2 figures, good old Cobol. Do you have the
option to define how you export the data from the Cobol programme, say
into csv format

The data is from an in house custom mail system written in Cobol!!!! One
way to avoid exchange, write your own mail system!!

What the heck is that data?!?!?

Anyway, you should be able to format it in such a way that you can
import it into Outlook - take a look at Slipstick.com and see what Sue
has as reference. MSDN might have something too.
