The mail data is old messages from a Cobol messaging system based in UNIX.
There are 500 user accounts with an average of 100 message per mailbox. It's all plain text, no attachments. I do have ex5.5 ready. -----Original Message----- From: STEVE BROOK [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 21 November 2001 18:02 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Migration of mail data Ok, so this data, you want to get where exactly. Is it (presumption) old e-mails from old system that you wish to get into peoples new mailboxes in Exchange? How big is the data? How many users? Can you handle it manually or is it big enough to warrant some sort of automation? Do you already have Exchange 5.5 or 2K already set up and running? Do you have the option to define how you export the data from the Cobol programme, say into csv format SB -----Original Message----- From: Adam Romain [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 21, 2001 11:15 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Migration of mail data The data is from an in house custom mail system written in Cobol!!!! One way to avoid exchange, write your own mail system!! -----Original Message----- From: Roger Seielstad [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 21 November 2001 16:06 To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: Migration of mail data What the heck is that data?!?!? Anyway, you should be able to format it in such a way that you can import it into Outlook - take a look at Slipstick.com and see what Sue has as reference. MSDN might have something too. ------------------------------------------------------ Roger D.
